I use premium version of ZEMAX-OpticStudio for design both illuminating and imaging systems. Please find below capabilities of the version.

Capabilities of Premium Version of ZEMAX-OpticStudio

It is possible to design complicated illuminating systems using the version. The version also allows completing stray light analyses of cameras. This version was created in the end of 2016. It is permanent license. So, I loan sometimes the most updated version of ANSYS-ZEMAX-OpticStudio.
